HISTORY OF OUR COMPANY

North Central Transfer was founded in 1998 by Ron and Ilona Rooney. Ron began serving the Brainerd lakes area with regional transportation service from the Twin Cities metro area. Ilona answered the phones and told Ron where to go! In 2009 they began talking about retirement. Their customers didn’t like the idea as much and wanted them to grow instead. In 2010 family friend, Jamie Lee joined the operation and the second truck was added. By the end of the year Jamie and his wife Laura had purchased North Central Transfer and the Rooney’s had set their retirement dates. By the time Ron and Ilona retired in 2013 North Central Transfer had grown to 10 trucks. Today North Central Transfer continues to serve the Brainerd Lakes area and the Twin Cities with LTL, full load and dedicated services. North Central Transfer also operates over the road trucks serving the Midwest. North Central Transfer is a family owned, family operated, family oriented business. From the beginning customer service has been the top priority. Exceeding expectations will continue to be the cornerstone of North Central Transfer now and into the future.
